VibeConsole is a free, open-source terminal IDE for macOS, built for developers who ship code with Claude Code or Codex CLI. It is not a code editor — it is a workspace built around the terminal, where AI coding actually happens. MIT-licensed, macOS 13+, Apple Silicon and Intel.
Nine terminals, one window
Run up to nine independent terminals in tabs or a grid: Claude Code in one pane, your dev server in another, tests in a third. Each terminal can run a different AI tool, switched straight from the toolbar.
Context that survives sessions
AGENTS.md, STRUCTURE.json, and PROJECT_NOTES.md keep project structure and decisions alive between sessions, so your AI tool picks up where it left off. Saved prompts paste into the terminal with one click.
Git, files, and usage tracking built in
The Git panel shows staged and unstaged changes, branches, worktrees, and inline diffs with syntax highlighting. Drag a file from the tree and its quoted path lands in the terminal. Real-time tracking covers Claude and Codex usage: session utilization, weekly limits, reset timers. Extend everything with JavaScript plugins.
Who it's for
Developers who code with AI every day and are done juggling terminal windows. No accounts, no subscriptions — open source on GitHub.
